Canada Day
Port Moody, B.C.
July 1st 2005

VE Day celebrations at the Port Moody Station Museum.

The CMRS was invited to provide a joint display at the Port Moody Station Museum. The museum requested our services to help honour, "The Year of the Veteran". Approximately a half a dozen vehicles, trailers, tents and various militaria displays filled the parking lot. Thousands of locals took advantage of the showing and to this day it still holds the record for attendance. This was the first event that the CMRS put on a static display, many thanks to the Port Moody Station Museum.

Canadian Military Trivia - 1870 Riel Rebellion
bullet The Canadian army force travelled from Ontario to Winnipeg before the railway was completed. This was a very difficult trip but pride and politics prevented them from taking the easy route of a train through the USA. When they arrived in Winnipeg, Louis Riel and his rebels had fled.
