Canadian Military Trivia - Post 9/11 (War on Terror)
bulletAfter the terror attack of 9/11, the home base of the terrorists was invaded.  Canada provided army troops and the JTF-2 (elite unit). 
bulletCanadian snipers were assigned to work with some US troops and acquitted themselves so well that the US awarded them Bronze Stars. The American magazine "Soldier of Fortune" featured the Canadian snipers on the front page and a feature story spanning two issues. Sadly the Canadian government refused to allow the decorations to be awarded in-theatre. One sniper was apparently sent home in disgrace because he had sworn at a Padre.
