Is this a good M1 Garand?
I am looking for an M1 Garand in history, plinking targets and because I like guns. I found the M1 $ 750. Is this much or should I take something a little cheaper and / or a little better? Sales description below: "Springfield, early receptor 43, with a replacement barrel dated 50. If I remember right, you have two colleagues in the throat, and 1 in the nose. This is essentially a service rifle years. I bought the store CMP South. I changed the Hand Guard to drown. "
husband linked here: Well, Springfield is a receiver in '43 with a gun '50 can be considered as common … 2 chamber with a throat and a tube of size 1, which is fine, you should not have to replace the barrel all the weak. Personally, I think $ 750 is a little steep … But! I have three DCM / Garand SJC. My most recent was a Greek "Lend-Lease" I bought CMP of $ 295 in '04. The gun was marked as as having a throat and nose as 4-3. I replaced the wood ($ 89). I have to replace the barrel, but he still has the ring 8200 meters, which in reality is not so bad … I want to grow stronger. CMP said it would resume accepting orders in October if you want to wait. While $ 750 seems steep to me, which really can be a long-term agreement, according to how you want a Garand. Personally, I lie Garand lose with prices … My childhood (poor) to 6 digits Springfield cost me $ 168 of DCM in the early 90s. My MCD 3.8 million H & R was purchased from a local gun shop for $ 400. My four million H & R CMP bought the CMP for $ 300. I want to try my luck and hope that the CMP Garand replenish their reserves, but I have the luxury of already have a Garand or two … you do not (no offense.) It always depends on how fast you want to give $ 750. Given the current market, $ 750 It could be a very fair price. Good luck!
